WORLD-CLASS R&D CENTER
As one of the world’s leading manufacturers of photovoltaic products, Seraphim focuses on solar technology innovation. In 2013, they built in-house research facilities that specialize in R&D and product testing for further development, new materials testing, client customization , and periodic sample testing, etc..
Located in the scenic Chinese city of Changzhou, Seraphim’s laboratory covers an area of 722 square meters. Equipped with German-made electrical performance testers, walk-in climate simulation chambers, and over 20 other instruments for PV testing and staffed with more than 80 engineers, 20 testing specialists, the laboratory now has complete PV R&D and testing capabilities.
Their laboratory has been recognized as CSA and DEKRA witness laboratory, CNAS certified in-house laboratory, CTC authorized testing laboratory, TUV SUD assessed CTF laboratory and CGC approved laboratory. This allows Seraphim to shorten the certification period and accelerate the speed of new product release.

H.A.L.M SUN SIMULATOR
Seraphim use A+A+A+ rated H.A.L.M solar simulators which have a high-precision manual testing system for IV measurement of solar modules. They are carefully designed to meet Seraphim’s R&D and quality control use.
ATLAS LIGHT SOURCE
The light source equipment from Atlas, which is the selected manufacturers of IEC calibration. The device is equipped with a special 2000W metal halide lamp, which provides highly intensive UV-B and UV-A sections of the UV band spectrum.
VOTSCH Walk-in Climate Simulation Chambers
VOTSCH customized climate simulation chambers are also embedded in Seraphim’s automatic production lines. These high precise facilities are designed and made in Germany using environmentally friendly materials, which could provide detailed testing data such as Thermal Cycling test, Humidity Freeze test, Damp Heat test, and etc. to facilitate further product upgrades and reliability improvements.

- FULLY AUTOMATED PRODUCTION LINESModularized fully automated production lines enable fast delivery and cost savings. To achieve high utilization rate and efficiency, Seraphim divided the whole production chain into separate but closely united automated production sectors. Over 40 patents are applied on production process optimization, which could effectively avoid manual errors and make sure all the production processes from raw material inspection to packing are all monitored online and saved for later use.Their modularized full-automated production lines utilize exclusive patents. This system ensures that the materials from the beginning of production to the packaging is all monitored online. This allows for significantly reduced human error and higher production quality during production.
REAL-TIME MONITORING SYSTEM
Seraphim employs strict manufacturing management and end-to-end quality control. With an in-house developed ERP system, thay track every step of every module component from incoming quality control, to online production, OBA test, and delivery status, etc.
The ERP system implements a unique bar code for each module component. Information such as raw material suppliers, production workers, quality testing results, and production dates are all accessible online through their ERP system. These data will be kept on their server for client access. Their product monitoring system allows them to track and take responsibility for product quality. It also enables customers to log in via Internet to retrieve all the production data at their convenience. Their ERP system also enables them track products in a database, giving them the ability to further improve product quality in the future.

Seraphim has received certifications for Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2015), Environment Management System (ISO 14001:2015) and Occupational Health and Safety Management System (ISO45001：2018) from both DNV GL and GZCC.
Beyond IS09001 standards, Seraphim also applied for the national “GB T19580 2012 Criteria for Performance Excellence”. This regulates not only product quality, but also production waste, environmental burden, management foresight, etc., which are the necessities for an “excellent” company.
COORDINATED QUALITY CONTROL SYSTEMQC KEY POINTS
- High Quality Starts from the Very Beginning
Seraphim performs thorough assessments of all incoming raw materials. There are overall 156 quality control tests including cell efficiency and pull strength detections, EL tests, EVA gel content tests, resistance test of J-box cable, and frame stability tests. All these tests guarantee that every batch of raw materials and every single component is up to Seraphim’s standard of quality.
- 3 Times EL Tests in Production
Each Seraphim module has to pass 3 rounds of EL test:pre-lamination, post-lamination, and before packing. These tests minimize defective products while reducing the overall production costs.
- HALM Inside for Performance Testing
All production lines in the Seraphim manufacturing plants are equipped with HALM photovoltaic product characterization testers. The German made H.A.L.M. performance tester uses state of the art Triple A+ level light source with a complex power regulation system and freely adjustable optical pulse settings. H.A.L.M. enables Seraphim to accurately and easily scan out the most important data of each module on the line, such as maximum power, temperature coefficient, and the low-irradiance performance in a relatively short time.
- Innovations in QC, Improved Reliability
Seraphim innovates the QC process by installing modulator tubes behind the visual inspection checking machine. This fill-in light magnifies flaws like broken cells, micro-cracks, ribbon-less edge chips, etc. so that no defective module will be shipped to their clients. In the meantime, they use high resolution monitors to check whether the gaps between cells meet requirements. This series of quality control tests guarantees that modules function to all the technical specifications while maintaining visual uniformity.
- Periodical Tests for Long-term Guarantee
Every quarter, Seraphim spot checks all types of modules being produced in the past three months, including thermal cycling, damp heat, PID, UV, humidity freeze, hot spot, and etc., to double check their product.
